Charity Performance for
China 5.12 Earthquake Victims

Thank you for everyone's support! This event raised a total of $38,864 which includes the following two parts:

• $32,440 in check (including a $30,000 check from Ci Hui Foundation)
• $6,424 in cash

The whole amount has been forwarded to the Chinese Consulate General In New York

Time: 05:30 PM to 8:30 PM, 05/25 (Sunday)
Venue: Cowin Center, Teachers College, Columbia University
(525 West 120th Street, New York, NY, the entrance will be on the Broadway close to 120th street)

Suggested donation: students $1 per-person, professionals $5 per-person. All donations will be forwarded to the earthquake victims through the following possible channels: Chinese Consulate General in New York (www.nyconsulate.prchina.org), China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation (www.fupin.org.cn/), MercyCorps (www.mercycorps.org) or Committee 100 (www.committee100.org).

A magnitude 8 earthquake stuck the central Sichuan Province May 12, 2008, causing significant civilian casualties, structural damage, and disrupted power lines and other vital services. Over 50,000 people have died so far in Sichuan, Shan Xi, Gan Su, and Yun Nan.

No matter where we are from, no matter what color we are, no matter what language we speak, we all feel so sad about the catastrophe. That is because we are not different from those people who lost parents, lovers, siblings, kids, friends and colleagues in the earthquake. Let's do something for the victims of 5.12 Earthquake. Let's share our love and bless with them. Let's give them a hand.

To assist China's relief efforts in areas affected by the earthquake, various organizations in USA have organized many donation events. By far USA government, organizations, and people have made donation worth of more than 23 million dollars with palletized loads of food, water containers, blankets, lanterns, etc.

We organize this event to appreciate the contribution by the people who feel concern about the earthquake victims in China. Also we wish more people will give a hand to the victims through this activity.

2008 年 5 月 12 日一场 8 级的地震发生在中国的四川省。到目前为止四川，陕西，甘肃和云南的灾区已有超过50,000人死亡。

看着那些舍生忘死奋战在灾区的勇士们 , 看着那些守望在废墟旁的亲人们 , 看着那些渴望帮助的受难者们。身在异乡的我们都会想我们能够做些什么，都在内心里呼喊“不要放弃，你们并不孤单，因为我们在这里”。

我们每个人都有职责尽一份心力，献一份爱心。让我们不分国界，不分组织一起为灾区人民做一些事情。目前美国各大公司和机构纷纷组织员工捐款。美东地区各学生团体，校友会，华人社团也陆续开展了捐款活动。在此，我们表示深深的敬意。

在美东地区众多华人组织和一些美国及国际非营利组织的大力支持下，我们积极筹备了一场演出来回报给所有献爱心的人，同时让更多有爱心的人了解灾区的情况和捐款的途径。晚 会欢迎各界人士参与。晚会包括中国戏曲，歌曲，舞蹈，曲艺，合唱等内容。节目由美东地区知名演艺人士，各高校学生和当地华人联合奉献。晚会当天欢迎观众自愿捐 款，所得金额将通过中国驻纽约总领事馆 ( www.nyconsulate.prchina.org/chn/ ），百人会 (www.committee100.org/) 和中国扶贫基金会 (www.fupin.org.cn/) 转交给中国地震灾区。
